Why We Chose Encore
2002 seems a long time ago, but that was when we first started looking at going computerised. I remember it well trawling through the various material supplied by the software guys who had, they said, the perfect software for our Architectural Ironmongery business. Following presentations and site visits we decided Encore suited our needs the best. Going live, in March 2003, proved to be really painless. Following the on site training, the Anagram support team were always at the end of the phone and rapidly sorted any teething problems. As the logic of many of the processes is very similar, once one process is mastered it is only a small step to being able to grasp many others. Since then the package has been upgraded many times, even including some improvements that we have suggested, and has a wealth of new features including the Web module. This enables managing the web data and order import really easy. We have periodically looked at alternative software, and whilst some software may look prettier, we have yet to find a package that comes anywhere near to offering the number of features packed into Encore.

Established in 1904, Vastern Timber is a family-run business. Today Vastern Timber operates from two sites in Wiltshire and is one of the largest British hardwood sawmills in the country, supplying a range of British and European timbers including oak, sweet chestnut, ash, larch and cedar.
Why we chose Encore
We have been using Encore since 2009 and it was our first computer based system. We reviewed three products but chose Encore due to its uncomplicated interface and wealth of features. The most important factor was value for money which we still feel Encore delivers to this day. The timber tally feature of the software is particularly important to our business and required some unique capabilities, which Anagram willingly re-wrote, to fit in with our needs. As our business has grown, so has our understanding and use of Encore - it's been a powerful tool for our business. Our relationship with the team at Anagram is first class - they're friendly, approachable and always have time to help solve our problems. The quality of the backup support team is A1 and I find this as important as system reliability. I would recommend Anagram Systems and Encore to any timber merchant considering new trading software.
